Suki Thompson was first diagnosed with cancer in 2010. After living with cancer for thirteen years, she passed away peacefully on the 30th of July 2023.
Suki’s legacy lives on in the brilliant conversations she sparked and the many lives she touched. And it is those conversations that have now been brought to life in a very special book, ‘Every Day is a Gift’. This was a theme that Suki adopted as she neared the end of her journey, reminding us all, that life is there for living.
This book brings together some of the most moving and thought-provoking moments from Suki’s inspirational podcast series ‘Reset’. Conversations recorded with extraordinary people about life, purpose, connection, and growth. From business leaders to Olympians, activists to artists, Suki had an extraordinary ability to bring people together and to draw out their stories, helping others see the world, and themselves, a little more clearly. She believed deeply in the power of learning from others, and this book invites you to do just that. Every page is a reminder that life, in all its complexity and beauty, is indeed a gift.
The conversations in this book contain inspirational and practical advice for self-help and personal development, leadership and motivation. It is focussed on helping people live and lead their daily lives with more purpose.

About Suki Thompson
Suki Thompson wasn’t just an incredible woman. She was a guiding light, a force of nature and a presence that filled every room she was in. She was the person you turned to when you needed advice, when you needed a laugh and when you needed someone to remind you of who you were.
Through her founding of Oystercatchers, Suki led change in reshaping the marketing industry, pioneering new marketing models for major brands. Suki was also a passionate advocate of accelerating the next generation of industry leaders. She mentored for WACL (Women in Advertising and Communications Leadership), lectured at Government Forums and was twice awarded a Merlin Mentor Award by the Marketing Academy. She held an Honorary Doctorate from Coventry University for services to International Business and Entrepreneurship. She was a member of the Marketing Group of Great Britain, and a former Chair of The Marketing Society. And, as if that wasn’t enough, her proudest achievement was being a mum to two amazing children, Jazmyn and Sam.
Alongside her incredibly successful career, Suki was a trustee for Macmillan for nine years; ours was a charity very close to her heart. In the final weeks of her life, Suki was quoted as saying,
‘Macmillan has been such an important charity for me. As a trustee for nine years, I witnessed first-hand the extraordinary work they do. Now, as I come to the end of my own journey, the support they are giving me and my family is incredible.’
We are very proud that all proceeds from the sale of this book will be going to Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity that was so incredibly close to dear Suki’s heart and for which she did so much, helping us do whatever it takes to help everyone living with cancer across the UK get the support they need right now and transform cancer care for everyone who will be diagnosed in the future.
